My Garden Assistant Terms of Use

Last updated: 22 October 2026

  1. Never eat, forage, brew, or medicate on the strength of this app. Identification can be wrong, and plants that look alike are not always alike — some common garden and hedgerow plants are seriously poisonous, and a few are fatal. This app never confirms that any plant, or any part of a plant, is safe to eat or use. Where it describes toxicity it is giving a warning, never a clearance: "no known toxicity" means no hazard is recorded, which is not the same as safe. If you are considering eating or otherwise using a plant, identify it with an expert, in person.
  2. Service. My Garden Assistant provides AI-generated estimates — which plant a photograph most likely shows, how healthy it appears, and how that species is generally cared for. Estimates are approximate and for general guidance only. They are not horticultural, medical or veterinary advice, and they cannot account for conditions the photograph does not show.
  3. Care advice is general to the species. Soil, aspect, local climate and the age of a plant all change what it actually needs. Treat the schedule and care notes as a starting point, and your own judgement as the authority.
  4. Your garden is your own. Your plants, photos and history are stored in your own iCloud account rather than by us. Keeping your own backups is your responsibility, and we cannot recover data you delete.
  5. Subscription. Some features require an auto-renewing subscription purchased through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed in your App Store account settings. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased. See also Apple's standard EULA.
  6. Fair use. Identifications and care lookups are limited per day, per installation, to keep the service available to everyone.
  7. No warranty. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Identifications, health assessments and care advice may be inaccurate or incomplete.
  8. Changes. We may update these terms; continued use constitutes acceptance.
